The Palais des congrès de Montréal

Anticipation will be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

The Palais, which will host all but the latest evening events, is located in downtown Montréal and is two blocks away from Old Montréal  (map) , a popular tourist destination.  The downtown hotels and Palais are also connected with each other and lots of shopping through the Underground City, which includes subway connections.

Palais floorplan

We have over 1450 hotel rooms being held for the convention, with the largest block at the Headquarters and Party Hotel, the Delta Centre-Ville (500 rooms blocked).  Prices range from $67 Canadian for some discounted Student Housing for the price conscious, to $199 for a few upper end rooms.  The main hotel rate is $159 Canadian for single/double occupancy and most hotel prices are around that rate.  The great majority of rooms are within a five minute walk from the convention centre, the Palais des congrès, with some as close as across the street.  Hotel Map

The convention is using a Housing Bureau for reservations.  As a shameless plug, we are also looking for a few good fen to assist with Facilities and Hotel Liaison work at-convention.

Wireless internet access

In our party and headquarters hotel, the Delta Centre-Ville, we’ll have wireless Internet connectivity throughout the floors with function rooms as well as the 5th floor hospitality wing.  We’ll pass the passcode along to the Daily Newsletter once it’s been published by the Delta.

In the Palais, free wi-fi will be available in room 210, our main exhibits space and dealers’ room. There are lounge areas to sit down and use your computer or other mobile device. Any attendee can also purchase access to wi-fi in all hallways (including Lobby 210) for $15 a day and in rooms $23 for two hours. Wi-fi will also be available for purchase at the Café bistro Van Houtte on the ground floor, near the Place Jean-Paul Riopelle entrance. Also consult Île Sans Fil for information on free wireless access points in Montréal.
