Press Release #26

Anticipation: Press Release #26, July 20, 2009
Melissa Auf der Maur to appear at Anticipation.

It is our pleasure to host Ms. Auf der Maur on Friday, August 7th at the Palais de congrès.

She will present her new concept album project, including a CD, a film, and comic. An acoustic set follows the film screening. Directed by Tony Stone, “OOOM”, a 28-minute wordless, hypnotic braid of three science-fictional storylines, was an Official Selection of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Our members may attend at no additional cost.

A bassist most well known for her work with two rock bands, Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, Ms. Auf de Maur is an accomplished photographer as well as a musician. She is a dual American-Canadian citizen of Franco-Swiss ancestry who grew up in Kenya and Montréal, attending F.A.C.E. School and Concordia University.

The 67th World Science Fiction Convention, known as Anticipation, will take place in Montréal, Québec, Canada from Thursday, August 6th through Monday, August 10th, 2009.

More information about Anticipation, including current membership rates, is available on our web site (); you can also write to us for more information.
